A Poem For Miraks

Write poems she said
But prose I wrote instead
It’s what she wanted
But how could I give her when my head is full of words unsaid
Expressed not in beautiful lines
But in jagged and rough rhymes
Just like Homer I’d pen my heart’s desire
Someday! Someday!
Until she catches the fire.
