POEM 312: HE STOPPED DREAMING

that boy who has the devil in him,
whose voice is likened to cherubic orchestra,

he, with witty wanton words, whispered:
‘you’re the girl of my dreams’

her toes curled,
her innards, mush,

sparkles of fireflies,
she could feel the butterflies

she believe him,
defense walls caved in,
she gave in

then,
he stopped sleeping,

that boy who has the devil in him.
