30, a collection of poems by Jaachi Anyatonwu banner

we kill infidels
& condemn unbelievers to hell
in the name of god

we deny children a father’s love
& blame the widow for her loss
in the name of god

we steal from they that lack
& rob faithfuls in tithe disguise
in the name of god

we lie with a strange gusto
& put up faux acts as we go
in the name of god

we commit crimes demons dread
& with holy writs oats swear
in the name of god

whoever god is
wherever god is
how depressed he must be.
