How to Express Your Appreciation for the People Who Make You Happy and Why It Matters

Glee greetings, dear reader, I hope this musing finds you well and happy. As we continue on our joy and happiness series, I want to share with you a quote that has inspired me recently:

“Let us be grateful to the people who make us happy; they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom.” —Marcel Proust

This quote reminds me of the importance of gratitude and appreciation for the people in our lives who bring us joy and happiness. They are the ones who nurture our souls, help us grow, and make us feel alive. They are the ones who make our days brighter, our hearts warmer, and our spirits higher.

Who are these people for you?

Maybe they are your family, your friends, your partner, your colleagues, your mentors, your neighbours, or even strangers who have touched your life in some way. Whoever they are, I invite you to take a moment to think of them and thank them for their presence in your life. You can send them a message, call them, visit them, or simply say a silent prayer for them. Let them know how much you appreciate them and how they make you happy.

Gratitude is not only a gift for the receiver but also for the giver. When we express our gratitude, we also feel more happiness ourselves. We become more aware of the goodness and beauty around us. We become more connected to ourselves and to others. We become more generous and compassionate. We become more alive.
