POEM 281: STORIES

There are stories in the thoughts we brew
stories we add imageries
stir
and stir
and stir
with the ill-shaped curves of distant thoughts
until they go blurry and dark
oblivion

There are stories in the dreams we have
stories we lie low on hard beds
and slide into mystical planes to cool
how they cuddle our frail frame
and caress our heart with the prospects of dawn.

stories so fierce and sour
like midday sun

stories we inhale and heave
like a cup of coffee

stories we tell in cuneiforms
like sober scribes

stories we mask with seasoned series
like Sweetness, Sabrina, Bose and…

stories that still make our hearts sour
and our tongue dry.

stories of love
