POEM 114: WISHES
We will hide under a blanket of waves
rising and falling with the gales.
We will hold the candle of trust
in the darkness of lies.
We will whisper silently
the intent of our hearts
while the world noisome speed by.
We will hinge our doors
on the posts of love
so it swings open at just a tap.
We will be human
But wishes don’t gallop
Only horses do.
