I hope this musing finds you well and happy. In continuation of the November Joy Series, I want to share with you a quote by Margaret Lee Runbeck that has inspired me lately:
“Happiness is not a station you arrive at, but a manner of travelling.”
What does this quote mean to you?
To me, it means that happiness is not a destination but a journey. It means that happiness is not something we can achieve once and for all, but something we can experience every day, in every moment, in every situation. It means that happiness is not dependent on external factors but on our internal attitude and perspective.
How can we travel in a manner of happiness?
I think there are many ways, but here are some suggestions:
- Be grateful for what you have, and do not compare yourself with others. {{contact.first_name}}, there is always something to be thankful for, and there is always someone who has less than you. Gratitude fills your heart with joy and peace, and it helps you appreciate the simple things in life.
- Be optimistic and hopeful, and do not let fear and worry consume you. There is always something to look forward to, and there is always a solution to every problem. Optimism gives you strength and courage and helps you overcome the challenges you face. Stay optimistic, and you’ll stay happy.
- Be kind and compassionate, and do not judge or criticise others. There is always something to learn from everyone, and there is always a reason behind every human behaviour. Kindness spreads happiness and love and helps us connect with others. So, show a little kindness today to your loved ones and even strangers. It’s a simple yet profound What-You-Give-Is-What-You-Get rule. Their own happiness will rub off on you.
- Be curious and creative, and do not stop learning and growing. There is always something new to discover, and there is always a way to improve yourself. Curiosity stimulates your mind and spirit and helps you find meaning and purpose in life. Stay curious!
These are some of the ways I try to travel in a manner of happiness. I hope they resonate with you and inspire you to find your own way.
Remember, happiness is not a station you arrive at, but a manner of travelling. So, enjoy the journey and make the most of every moment.
Thank you for reading, and until next time, stay happy and healthy!
